The REAL Flow of Money,
The FREE LUNCH mentality!
& How to Make Money from “Them”
& Live a Really Great Life!
©Dec 1, 2010 By John La Tourrette, PhD.
There is a process of growth, of awareness, and of understanding and practice (action) a person must go through to get those skills of making lots of money, or they just cannot do it.
At least they do not get as much money to the degree that they could achieve if they followed the right money making instructions.
Success in life is becoming what you want to be. You can become what you want to be only by making use of things, and by taking proper action.
Lots of action.
And there is nothing wrong in getting rich.
The desire for riches is really the desire for a richer, fuller, and more abundant life…it is in the use of material things that man finds full life for his body, develops his mind, and unfolds his soul.
Without lots of money you are like the guy in the swamp attempting to drain the swamp of water, but you can’t because you are up to your ass in alligators, and until you take care of those alligators you cannot take time to drain the swamp.
It’s the same with making lots of money. If you don’t even know how to make “end’s meet” you will not have the time to get wealthy.
Most people do NOT want to listen to, or study the procedures that will hone their intelligence so they can do skill X, which in this case, making lots of money.
They don’t seem to have time to do the blood-n-guts training, by rolling up their shirt sleeves and doing what it takes to learn what needs to be done.
And there are some Masters of Money out there that really do have great means of EARNING MONEY, and earning money is where “happiness starts”.
First let’s talk about Napoleon Hill.
He came out with a very good Money Making Model™ back in the twenties.
He learned much of those successful money making tactics from multi-millionaire Andrew Carnegie in 1908. And then Mr. Carnegie gave him access to many successful millionaires (approximately 500 of those self-made millionaires) so he could learn their POSITIVE methods used to become rich.
At that time most people thought that to become rich you must become ruthless, unethical and violent in action, following in the steps of how they understood the “Survival of the Fittest” as portrayed in the media about Charles Darwin’s theories of evolution.
And many millionaires were ruthless, cheats and robbers in their dealings with others.
In fact Napoleon Hill even accused Carnegie of that fault (of dealing too harshly with his competitors) in one of his magazine articles just before Andrew Carnegie died.
Andrew Carnegie wanted Napoleon Hill to give a different aspect of wealth building based upon New Age Thought and the Law of Attraction.
(I personally believe that both Carnegie and Hill got much of their concepts from a 1907 book written by Beals.)
So Napoleon Hill did that…He studied the esoteric principles of making money, wrote about them in magazine articles, and taught them in lectures.
In 1927 he came out with his block-buster book, “The Law of Success” just before the depression hit.
The latest edition of that book has 1,035 pages in it, and it did sell like hotcakes.
At least it sold like hot cakes that first year, then the Great Depression hit.
In that book Napoleon Hill had revealed the Carnegie secret of transforming wishes into reality. That secret was called The Law of Attraction and Mr. Hill wrote about how to use it for wealth building.
Or as W.D. Wattles said in his “The Science of Getting Rich (1910)”, “The fact remains that it is NOT possible to live a really complete or successful life unless one is rich…therefore, the basis of all advancement for man MUST BE the science of getting rich”.
17 years before Napoleon Hill Wattles revealed that there is a Science of getting rich, and it is an exact science, like algebra or arithmetic.
He mentioned that there are certain laws which govern the process of acquiring riches; once these laws are learned and obeyed by any man he will get rich with mathematical certainty.
“No matter how poor you may be, if you begin to do things in the Certain Way you will begin to get rich”.
And it doesn’t depend upon intelligence, or education or talent… “For many people who have great talent remain poor; while others who have very little talent get rich”…
… “Those who get rich are an average lot in all respects, having no greater talents and abilities than other men. And it is evident that they do not get rich because they possess talents and abilities that other men have not, but because they happen to do things in a Certain Way”…
“Talented people get rich, and blockheads get rich; intellectually brilliant people get rich, and very stupid people get rich; physically strong people get rich, and weak and sickly people get rich”.
“If anybody else in your town can get rich, so can you; and if anybody else in your state can get rich, so can you”.
One thing that they both were correct on, is “that there is NOTHING ever achieved by doing nothing”.
Or as Gary Halbert stated so often, “you cannot multiply zeros”.
So the ones that were willing to do what it took, the ones that were willing to “go the extra mile”, those people became very successful and made themselves very wealthy.
Here’s the sad part.
Over 25,000 of the people that Napoleon Hill interviewed were poor. So from the poor folks he learned what NOT to do.
And they were NOT willing to do what it takes to earn money.
And from the 500 rich people that he interviewed, all of them already knew and used most of the 17 principles that he came up with from 1909-1972.
So, here’s the bad news.
What everyone (at least the herd) wants is a Free Lunch.
And that is also the GOOD NEWS.
What you do is sell to the ones that want the Free Lunch!
The “free lunch” crowd is a much bigger and greedier crowd that the ones that are willing to do what it takes to become successful for real.
And then use them to open up your money funnel in an ethical manner…So that you can help them more than they help themselves…
…AND, you have other great products in your funnel that will lead those with some of the 17 principles of success forward until they are also rich.
Let me give you a few examples.
One of my friends, Bill Harris, of Center Point Institute loves those lazy people.
He makes them meditation audios so all they need to do is put on the headsets and, PRESTO, they are now downloading from the universe what they want for no effort at all.
And he’s become a millionaire selling those audios.
Why?
Because there are massive amounts of people that “want something for nothing”. They want to do as little as possible and to live their life doing as little as possible.
Now those people are willing to pay the bucks, but are NOT willing to do the other drills that are necessary to achieve those skills.
Most people don’t know it but Bill is well trained in Mind Skills. He is an NLP Trainer. He is trained in hypnosis. He is trained in persuasion.
So he found a flow-of-money, and then built a self-improvement product that he could place in front of the flow-of-money.
And it worked for him.
Joe Vitale does the same thing, day in and day out. He sells books on the Law of Attraction, on How to Dream Your Way into a Brand New Car, on Easy Money, No Effort At All.
In fact, just today I got another one of his offers and in that offer he has THE BIG PROMISE, where you get much for not much effort.
Here’s the statement where he says that:
“All you do is watch it and you can be transformed,
inspired, informed, educated, and entertained.”
And that is NOT what Joe does for himself.
Joe studies very hard and takes trainings to get experience so he can really, really, really learn.
And Joe has also done his training. He has earned his spurs by riding the bucking bronco.
He is a great advertising copywriter.
He is a hypnotist.
He has taught advertising.
He has been poor. He has been homeless. He is now rich.
He knows and understands people and what motivates people. He has also taken psychic training (remote viewing) and done those drills.
He has found a bunch of lemmings and has stepped in front of them many times with an “easy-as-hell” package and is making millions.
In fact here’s another one of Joe’s BIG promises that he just emailed me.
Enjoy!
I’m willing to teach you how to attract
all the money you want.
Are you willing to listen?
If so, keep reading and I’ll tell you how
you can have a free DVD where I reveal
the formula for attracting money now.
It’s a live presentation where I unveil the
*real* secret to attracting money fast.
It’s about an hour of intense information
to help you break the bonds of all the key
limiting beliefs about money.
Isn’t that cool.
In one hour you can have the real secrets to the universe so you can attract all the money you wish.
You will NEVER AGAIN have any “money limiting issues”.
Wow!
Of course the more aware of you “know” that the free DVD is a loss-leader to up-sell you on something else. Which is the way the world works.
The good news is, “When you do what Joe teaches, it WILL help, so he is very ethical in his delivery and in the formation of his products”, which I do find very cool.
Anyway,
Charles Atlas did the same thing back in the 40’s-50’s and 60’s with his “dirt kicked in the face” advertisements.
So you’d buy his continuity program on dynamic tension and grow strong so you could easily beat up the muscle man beach bully by just flexing your muscles and holding your breath.
Of course Mr. Atlas was a weight lifter; spending 3-5 hours every day in the gym building those muscles the only way they can be built, with a massive amount of time “doing something” that will build muscle…hard, persistent exercise with heavy weights.
He did NOT use dynamic tension.
That’s just the product he sold once he found the “flow-of-money”.
He made up a widget that fit the mentality of that flow-of-money, where he gave the promise of fast, easy and very big muscles, with little or no effort.
Then there is my friend Dan Kennedy.
Dan was/is a workaholic…and a multi-millionaire that using his brain and lots of action, went from high school into the business world.
He is mostly self-taught by reading and then doing.
Boy has he made mistakes.
And, boy has he made a lot of money helping others make oodles of money!
The good news is he and people like Joe Vitale actually use those mistakes as feedback, learn from them what not to do anymore, and then figure out a plan of what to do instead.
Then they both get into action and get stuff done.
He gets up (even today) at 4 am and puts in 2-4 hours doing copywriting for others for huge sums of money.
He charges $45,000 to write an advertisement, and on top of that he gets 5% of the gross. So if that ad he writes pulls in $100 bucks, he gets $5 bucks of that.
If it pulls in $1,000,000 bucks (one million bucks) he gets $20,000 thousand bucks.
And he has a lot of advertisements out there that he’s written for others, that he’s still making money off of, long after he’s written the advertisement.
But Dan did not start making the big bucks until he went after the couch potatoes with his marketing.
He put together a kit for businessmen and that kit was literally a promise of virtually no effort and still you get a lot of money…
Here it is…
“…that if they bought his Magnetic Marketing kit, IT would do all their work for them. All they needed to do was fill in the blanks…”
And “YES” I bought it when it came out. It cost $97 bucks at first. And I did not use it. I modeled it. (This is a much higher level of action)
Then he updated it and I bought that one for $397. And guess what, I didn’t use that one either. I modeled it. (This is a much higher level of action)
I did read them both. I did study his method. And from his kit I made up my own method of doing what he was doing.
Let’s go back to Napoleon Hill. He wrote that first book in 1927. The depression hit in 1929.
That book no longer sold.
So in 1930 Napoleon wrote another, much smaller and cheaper book, “The Ladder To Success”. It didn’t sell either.
But a different author, Haanel came out with a home study course in 1912 that sold for $4 a week, and they would get one lesson each week for 15 weeks.
That course was still selling great in 1945.
In that home study course Haanel promised that “with enough faith and belief, one could perform miracles, as Christ did”.
Then his method of the Law of Attraction was traced back to the bible where it states, “Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you: For every one that asketh receiveth; and he that seeketh findeth, and to him that knockedth it shall be opened.”
(Sure sounds like “The Secret” doesn’t it?)
Haanel was selling the BIG PROMISE, where anyone could get much for nothing.
And he sold hundreds of thousands of those home study courses. So the people who wanted riches with no effort would pay money for a course but not pay it for a book.
Now all of the people I’ve mentioned above are good people with great products.
But the ones that became very wealthy made a BIG PROMISE where it was inferred that they would get everything by doing little or nothing.
By the way, the newest Napoleon Hill book just came out. Here’s the title, “Think & Grow Rich…in a MINUTE”.
Napoleon did not really write it. He died in 1972. But some Napoleon Hill editors wrote it.
By the way, it is a GREAT book.
Sincerely,

Doc, loved this post, ever word of it, lots of Ahas for me. I love how proactive people can provide real training under the guise of instant and easy. There’s never been anything instant or easy that’s not filled with MSG. People choose to believe they can get something for nothing, if you can’t beat them pretend to join them, step 2, profit!
Wow Dr La Tourrette! It’s a great post, which open wides my mind.
In this world, there are too many followers out there, only seeking for someone who can lead them to success, without much thinking and actions from themselves, and stay dependent to those inspiring leaders. After all, leaders take actions and think the most, on how they can become more successful, and attract the crowd to follow them.
It is marketing ways to get most of those followers to buy the product, and leaders earn most of the profits, while followers still cheers and happily waiting what will happen next.
